SARASOTA, FL – August 3, 2020 – Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ (Selby Gardens) 40th Annual Juried Photographic Exhibition and Sale will be virtual this year. In partnership with the Observer Media Group, the virtual exhibition will be viewable August 27 to September 20, 2020 at selby.org and YourObserver.com.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Observer Media Group to present the photography exhibition this summer,” says Selby Gardens’ President & CEO Jennifer Rominiecki. “Given the fluid nature of COVID-19 and in an effort to limit the amount of person-to-person contact that is involved with putting together this type of exhibition, we are confident that not only is this a safer alternative, but it will allow for more people to view the exhibition.”
Amateur photographers are invited to submit photographs taken at either Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota or Historic Spanish Point campuses. There are five categories in which photographers can submit their photographs. A complete list of categories and entry rules can be found at selby.org.
Digital photo submissions will be accepted August 9 to August 14, 2020. The photographs will be reviewed by a jury and the jury will select winners in each category and an overall “Best of Show.” Cash prizes will be provided for the winners. Winners will be announced on August 27, 2020.
